Built-in 9 channel or 16 channel triplex multiplexer. You can display sequentially a full screen image and 4 or 9 images (DX-TL4509E),  4,9, 10, 13, 16 images (DX-TL4516E) .  You can record, playback and display video feeds at the same time. You can use two independent monitors. Emergency recording is activated by a device, such as a panic button, attached to a terminal on the rear panel. Long pre-alarm recording . The vital data produced by alarm or emergency recording is stored in a separate, reserved partition on the hard disk. Motion detector. Drive for CD/DVD-R/RW. Can store up to 8TB on hard disk: 1TB internal + 7TB external (by using 500 GB HDD) enough to record for more than 18 months. Mirror function.

Versatile monitoring
Built-in 16 channel triplex multiplexer. You can choose between 5 different split-screen displays - handling  4, 9, 10, 13, 16 video feeds simultaneously - and a full screen display. You can record, playback and display video feeds at the same time. Even when using the 16-way split-screen display the DVR can handle 50 pictures a second from each camera. You can use two monitors, thus creating a powerful setup with double split-screen capability. Alternatively the output from a single camera can be displayed on both monitors but with a time shift.
Versatile recording
6 levels of recording quality. 1 Tbyte of data can be stored using the 750 Gb (250Gb standard + 2 x 250 HD optional) internal HD capacity. You can record up to 4 audio channel in PCM format using the optional DX-SC5 card. Can be triggered by motion detection (with parameters set individually for each of the 16 cameras that can be connected to the recorder) and or the activation of an external alarm sensor. Alarm recording starts at a point up to three minutes prior to the alarm. Emergency recording is activated by a device, such as a panic button, attached to a terminal on the rear panel. Emergency recording takes priority and records at the highest quality so as to capture every detail. If long pre-alarm recording has been selected, emergency recording can start as early as 60 minutes prior to the emergency signal. The vital data produced by alarm or emergency recording is stored in a separate, reserved partition on the hard disk. Another hard disk can be used to mirror data, to increase reilability further.
Simple setup
Easy setup for both initial setup and for daily operation with on screen menus and USB mouse.The transparency of the on-screen menus can be adjusted so as not to obscure real-time monitoring. You can use the keys on the front panel for menu selection. The setup process has be automated, wherever possible; if you specify the recording interval and period, recording quality will be set automatically, though you are always free to fine-tuning the settings. You can save the complete setup profile using external media such as a USB memory stick or CD-R disk.
Simple operation
Both video footage and still images can be easily archived using optical media or an external hard disk connected to one of the 6 USB ports. Since viewer software is automatically copied with the data, both video footage and still images can be examined on any Windows computer. You can search thruogh all data by date-time search, start/end point, alarm list search. Up to 8 bookmarks can be registered for instant retrieval. You can also search through motion detection. The motion detector can be adjusted specifying a defined area covered by any camera. You can also adjust time-base sensitivity. PTZ control (also available remotely through a network) can be made by using the number keys and the jog-shuttle control on the front panel. Alternatively, you can use the optional DX-KB5UE keyboard. You can also control focus, exposure, presets and auto-pan in this way.
Network connectivity
The DX-TL5000E can be remotely accessed, operated and configured via a LAN or the Internet using either the built-in web server or custom software on an external computer. The web server allows live monitoring, playback, searching through recorded footage and also partial control of recorder settings. You can choose full screen or split screen displays and select specific cameras. E-mail alerts can be sent automatically to ensure rapid response in an emergency. DX- PC55 optional software enables the network mediated configuration of virtually all settings as well as full control of operation. The software offers many options, such as adjusting recording quality and recording rate, changing programmed recording times, SSL encoding and power on/off.
Expandability
This unit can be equipped up to 3 internal hard-disk. A maximum of 7 optional DX-ZD5UE extension units can house 2 250 Gb hard disk each. This means that, all together they would provide up to 4.25 terabytes. You can use cascade connections between as many as 16 DX-5000E units; this setup enables the centralized monitoring up to 256 security cameras, using a single master unit. You can use the PCI expansion slot to install a SCSI card and up to 6 external hard disks for additional storage, or attach an optional video card for XGA output to a standard computer display.
